Walleye were present in fair numbers and size, with several 14-17 inch fish collected. Most of the walleye collected were from the 1986-1988 year classes, years in which walleye fry were stocked; however, there appeared to be a fairly strong naturally-produced 1991 year class as well. Northern pike numbers were relatively low, although fish up to 31 inches were collected.

WALLEYE AND SMALLMOUTH BASS APPARENTLY HAVE MIG- RATED INTO VISTA LAKE WITHIN ABOUT THE LAST TEN YEARS, BUT SMB WERE NOT TAKEN IN THIS SURVEY. BOTH SPECIES MAY BE HAVING TROUBLE ESTABLISHING THEM- SELVES BECAUSE OF THE FAIRLY LARGE NORTHERN PIKE POPULATION AND RELATIVELY LITTLE FORAGE IN THE WAY OF YELLOW PERCH. ADULT WHITE SUCKERS ARE IN AVG ABUNDANCE.
