The brook trout catch was slightly below average for the area. The average size of the fish caught was larger than average for the area, due primarily to the presence of several age-4 fish in the sample. Ages 2, 3, and 4 were present, and all had been stocked. Brook trout growth rates had been about average for the area. When caught in September, age-2 fish measured 10.0 inches, age-3 fish measured 14.9 inches, and age-4 fish measured 16.5 inches.

The 2003 brook trout catch was very low compared to typical catches in stream trout lakes in this area, and compared to catches that have been observed in this lake in the past. Only the smaller of the two fish taken was aged. That fish was from a 2002 fingerling stocking, and had exhibited very slow growth. The other was probably a two or three-year-old fish, based on its length. A change in the weather during the assessment may have contributed to the low 2003 catch. Wee Lake is entirely inside the BWCAW, and can be difficult to locate. Fishing pressure is thought to be low to moderate, compared to other stream trout lakes in the area.
