A targeted survey was conducted on Graham Lake to provide insight into the current fish community. Survey results will be used to inform stocking decisions and update the public on current and future fishing opportunities. Sixteen Walleye ranging from 12.2 to 15.5 inches were caught during the survey. The presence of Walleye was surprising, considering recently harsh winters and lack of Walleye stocking. These Walleye likely migrated into the system from nearby lakes or rearing ponds. Most of these Walleye will likely exceed 15 inches by the end of 2024 and should provide current angling opportunities. Moving forward, Walleye fry will be stocked into Graham Lake annually to provide a harvest orientated Walleye fishery in between winterkill events. Several other fish species were also caught during the recent survey. Black Bullhead and White Sucker are abundant and most of these fish were small. Two small Black Crappie were also caught in the survey. No Northern Pike or Common Carp were caught during the 2024 survey.

Most fish sampled wer black bullheads that were too small to have any value to the angler or commercial fisherman. Adult carp present were succesful in producing a year class of young carp. Northern pike captured were large and adequately abundant to provide some value to the sport fisherman. The population of northern pike is probably dependent on winterkill and water levels.
