Round Lake is a small (33-acre) bowl-shaped lake, with a maximum depth of 37 feet. Round is located within the city of Eden Prairie, which owns parkland surrounding the entire lake. In addition to a boat ramp, there is a fishing pier for anglers. Boaters may use electric motors only. Bluegill Sunfish are the dominant species in Round Lake, comprising 81% of fish sampled during this survey. The average length of Bluegill was 6.5 inches. Eighty-six percent of Bluegill were greater than 6 inches in length, and 17% exceeded 7 inches. The largest Bluegill measured 7.8 inches. Only 5 Black Crappie were sampled in the 2025 survey. Average size of gill-netted crappie was 8.2 inches and 0.31 lb. Gill-netted crappie ranged between 6.3 and 9.0 inches, and one 10.4 inch crappie was sampled by trap net. Two Northern Pike were sampled in the 2025 survey of Round Lake, and they were 23.7 inches and 28.9 inches. While abundance of pike is low, the fish are of good size. Also sampled during this survey were Pumpkinseed and hybrid sunfishes, as well as Black and Yellow Bullhead. In the past, a variety of fish had been stocked into Round, including Walleye, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout, and Tiger Muskellunge. Because these fish have not appeared in any sampling event since 2000, it is assumed that none remain. No fish stocking has occurred since 1992.

The average weight for crappie was about 0.5 lb. Fall electrofishing revealed a marginal largemouth bass fishery, with the largest fish measuring 12.3 inches. Only 8.7% of the bass sampled were over 12 inches, and the average-sized bass was about 7 inches long. Also sampled in lower numbers were pumpkinseed and hybrid sunfishes, as well as black bullhead.
