Robertson Lake is a small (18.7 acres) deep (40 feet maximum) undeveloped lake located in the Paul Bunyan State Forest with an undeveloped public access on state land. It has been reclaimed twice and used as a stream trout (rainbow trout) lake. Robertson Lake winter killed during 1984-1985 and 1985-1986 and has not been stocked with trout or any other species by the DNR since that time. The centrarchid species were introduced by parties unknown. The present centrarchid species will probably have good reproduction with a limited food supply and will become overpopulated and stunted. The present black crappie population does have individuals of preferred size up to 12.6 inches, but they are probably in limited numbers. The bluegill population also has a few individuals of preferred and quality size of more than 6.0 inches.

June 29, 1988The present centrarchid population was not stocked by department personnel or with our approval.
