Kennedy Lake is a 92 acre lake near Nashwauk, MN in lake class 20. It has a maximum depth of 80 feet and is 21% littoral (less than 15 feet deep). There are no public accesses on the lake.The northern pike gill net catch rate was within the expected range. They ranged from 24.1 to 30.3 inches and had a mean length of 27.4 inches. No northern pike under the age of 7 were sampled. Growth rates of northern pike in their first two years appears to be above average, but then slows to a normal rate thereafter.Only four yellow perch were sampled in the gill nets. This rate was below the expected range.The bluegill trap net catch rate was within the expected range. They ranged from 3.5 to 7.5 inches and had a mean length of 5.5 inches.The black crappie trap net catch rate was within the expected range. They ranged from 4.0 to 9.8 inches and had a mean length of 6.3 inches. Growth rates for crappie appears to be normal. Only three black crappie were sampled in the trap nets (1.0/set).The largemouth bass gill net catch rate (1.0/set) was within the interquartile range (0.5 - 2.0/set). They ranged from 6.3 to 19.1 inches and had a mean length of 8.6 inches.Only one rainbow smelt was sampled in the special gill nets.Other species sampled include smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed sunfish and rock bass.
