Pine Lake is an 8.1 acre lake located 3.5 miles northwest of Northome. The lake has a maximum depth of 44 feet with good water clarity. Although Pine Lake is relatively deep, much of the lake is shallow making it prone to occasional winter kill events. A targeted survey was completed in Pine Lake in Late May of 2023 to sample Largemouth Bass. Pine Lake has no special regulations. Fishing regulations follow statewide regulations for inland waters. Pine Lake was stocked with adult Largemouth Bass in 2009, and adult Bluegill were stocked in 2009 and 2023. Previous lake management plans identify several long-range goals, including providing a self-sustaining Largemouth Bass and Bluegill fishery. No Largemouth Bass were sampled during the survey and no other gamefish species were observed, indicating that a winterkill event had likely occurred since the most recent survey in 2021. Adult Bluegill were stocked in Pine Lake following the survey and will provide angling opportunities for the public.
