Swamp Lake is a small, very shallow body of water that supports a natural population of northern pike, yellow perch and white sucker. The maximum depth is less than three feet. Northern pike were sampled in fairly high numbers in 2005; however, the fish were very small, averaging only 0.5 lb/fish. The largest northern pike sampled was 1.25 lb and was the only fish larger than 1.0 lb collected.Yellow perch were sampled in relatively high numbers and the catch included a number of fish between 8.0 and 9.0 inches. Yellow perch larger than 9.0 inches are uncommon in this lake.
