The Walleye population is maintained entirely by natural reproduction. The fluctuating population indicates that natural reproduction is sporadic. Walleye gillnet catches for 1988 were about 1/2 the local average. Scale reading indicates a strong year class of age-2 fish, however; age-3 and 4 appear to have poor year class strength. Northern Pike numbers traditionally have been low and 1988 catches again indicated this. Yellow Perch are present is sufficient numbers to provide a good forage base.

July 31, 1982All species were caught at levels significantly below area catch averages, except Pumpkinseed (3.6/lift in 3/4 inch mesh trapnets).

All species were caught at levels significantly below area catch averages, except Pumpkinseed (3.6/lift in 3/4 inch mesh trapnets).
