Bohemian Lake is located approximately nine miles north and one mile east of Hendricks in Lincoln County. The lake is around 110 acres and does not contain a public boat ramp. A large portion of the lake lies within the boundaries of a State Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and is subject to WMA regulations. Historically Bohemian was a high-quality waterfowl lake with shallow, clear water and abundant vegetation. During the past 30 years Bohemian's depth increased from three to 11 feet. Its water clarity declined and dense phytoplankton blooms have frequently occurred. Stocking does not occur on Bohemian, however some gamefish are present. This 2018 standard survey was conducted to collect fish population data using a gill net, 0.75-inch trap nets and 0.25-inch trap nets. These data can be compared to historical standard and targeted survey data from Bohemian Lake. Yellow Perch were abundant in the 2018 survey. They were 6-13 inches, with 20% of them 10 inches or longer. Anglers have reported that perch fishing can be good at times. Black Bullheads were also abundant from a wide range of sizes, including fish up to 13 inches. The 2018 assessment was the first time Bluegills and Black Crappies were caught. Crappies were moderately abundant and were 5-10 inches. Bluegills were relatively rare and all were less than 8 inches. Future management activities include periodic fish population assessments.

Its water clarity declined and dense phytoplankton blooms have frequently occurred. Yellow perch were extremely abundant in 2012 with 614 caught per gill net. They ranged in size from 5-15 inches, with most fish 5-10 inches. Perch have experienced good natural reproduction and four year classes were well represented. Anglers have reported that perch fishing has at times been very good. Black bullheads were also abundant with most fish measuring 5-10 inches. Future management activities include fish population assessments.

Bohemian is a 111 acre class 39 lake located nine miles north of Hendricks, Minnesota in Lincoln County. Lake depth has increased from 2.7 feet in 1967 to 11 feet in 2001. The first initial survey was conducted in 2001. This population assessment was aimed at evaluating the existing fish populations and their potential. The only game fish sampled during this survey was yellow perch, which were abundant in both gill nets and trap nets. In 2001, gill nets captured 76 yellow perch per net. This survey sampled 364 yellow perch per net. Perch in gill nets and trap nets were primarily small (5-7 inches long and mean weight 0.15 lb), but a few individuals up to 13 inches were sampled. Only three year classes were found (1999, 2003, and 2006), with age-1 perch being most abundant. Quarter-inch trap nets sampled 624 young-of-year (YOY) perch per net, indicating the presence of a strong 2007 year class. High angler pressure for yellow perch in 1999 was observed, and future opportunities may exist as these fish continue to grow. Anglers can expect the yellow perch to be 10 inches in 2-3 years. Black bullhead continue to be abundant in Bohemian. In 2001, gill nets sampled 107 bullhead per net and trap nets captured 16 bullhead per net. During this survey, 61 black bullhead were caught per gill net and trap nets captured 64 bullheads per net. The black bullhead were primarily 4-6 inches long with a mean weight of 0.3 lb. Black bullhead will likely continue to be abundant in the lake, as quarter-inch trap nets caught 3,708 YOY black bullhead per net. The only other fish specie sampled was fathead minnow in the quarter-inch trap nets. One walleye was sampled in 2001, but none were captured during this survey. Future management activities planned for Bohemian include winter dissolved oxygen monitoring and a resurvey scheduled for 2011.
