WHITE SUCKER AND 1 BLUEGILL WERE THE ONLY FISH SAMPLED IN 1990. HISTORICAL NETTING SAMPLED ONLY WHITE SUCKER. MONO-SEX BLUEGILL STOCKING WAS DONE IN 1988; 93 ADULT MALES @ 5/LB. WERE STOCKED IN AN ATTEMPT TO PROVIDE A LIMITING REPRODUCTION. THE ONE BLUEGILL CAPTURED IN THIS ASSESSMENT WAS 9.3 INCHES LONG. THE GROWTH PATTERN FROM SCALE READING INDICATED VERY RAPID GROWTH AFTER THE FISH WAS INTRODUCED TO THIS BODY OF WATER. UNFORTUNATELY THE 1988-89 WINTER WAS SEVERE, BUT NO OXYGEN MONITORING WAS DONE TO DETERMINE IF THERE WAS A PARTIAL WINTERKILL. SUBSEQUENTLY WE DON'T KNOW IF THE LOW BLUEGILL CATCH WAS DUE TO INADEQUATE NUMBERS STOCKED, OR DEPLETION FROM WINTERKILL.
