Oslo Lake is located approximately eight miles west of Kettle Falls, Minnesota. This 99.2-acre lake has a maximum depth of 36 feet and dark tannin-stained water. A fisheries survey was completed in Oslo Lake during the 2025 field season as part of a regular rotation of surveys in the International Falls Management Area. Oslo Lake fishing regulations follow statewide regulations for inland waters. Northern Pike regulations follow the North-East zone regulation. Previous management plans identify the main goal of maintaining the abundance of Northern Pike at a balanced state that will allow for the recruitment of future generations while allowing for an increased growth rate to create larger/older individuals. Northern Pike gill net catch rate was 7.83 per net, above average for similar lakes. Total length ranged from 11.0 to 24.8 inches with an average length of 19.6 inches. Average weight was 1.5 pounds and was below average compared to similar lakes. A total of six age-classes were present and ages ranged from 2 to 7 years. With an above average catch rate, Oslo Lake provides a high catch rate opportunity for anglers targeting Northern Pike. Yellow Perch was the only other species sampled during this survey.

Oslo is a 105 acre lake located about 30 miles southeast of International Falls, MN. The lake is connected to Brown Lake by a small creek that flows through a marsh. Most (55%) of the lake is less than 15 feet deep, but has very little aquatic vegetation and productivity is low. Largemouth bass were stocked in 1950 and 1965. However, past investigations show no record of bass becoming established and none were captured during the 2010 assessment. Northern pike abundance was within the expected range for this lake type. Most pike were small and length in the sample ranged from 10.1-24.6 inches with a mean of 19.7. The mean weight was 1.65 pounds and growth was well below the area average. One yellow perch was captured in 2010; previous investigations also indicate low abundance. White sucker have been captured in the past; however, they were generally rare and none were captured in 2010.
