Tuners has little value as a sport fishery because of the high winter kill frequency. Some excellent walleye fishing occurred in 1982 after fingerlings survived a couple of winters. Tuners Lake is used by local bait dealers to harvest fathead minnows. In recent years, bait production has been hampered by a persistent bullhead population.
