TROOST POND WAS STOCKED IN 1990 WITH SMALL ADULT BLG (3,000) AND BLC (1,320) TO ESTABLISH AN URBAN FISHERY. TWO PAIR OF LMB WERE STOCKED IN THE SPRING OF 1991. BLG WERE NETTED IN LOW NUMBERS, 8.50/TRAP NET, WHICH WERE REPRESENTED BY 6.0-6.9 INCH FISH. IT IS UNKNOWN WHY ABUNDANCE OF BLG WAS LOW; POSSIBLY THEY MAY HAVE MIGRATED OUT THE OUTLET. WHC, WHICH WERE PRESENT PRIOR TO MANAGEMENT, AVERAGED 8.50/TRAP NET COMPARED TO 9.50/TRAP NET IN 1990. WHC ARE REPRESENTED BY AGES 2 AND 3 COMPARED TO THE AGES 1, 3-5 NETTED IN 1990. GROWTH CONTINUES TO BE GOOD FOR WHC. BLC WERE WELL REPRESENTED, AVERAGING 52.00/TRAP NET AND RANGED IN SIZE FROM 6.5-8.4 INCHES. BLC HAVE GROWN WELL SINCE STOCKING. BLB HAVE INCREASED FROM 18.00/TRAP NET IN 1990 TO 40.50/TRAP NET. ALL SIZES OF BLH WERE PRESENT IN 1990 COMPARED TO THE DOMINANT 6.0-8.4 INCH POPULATION NOW PRESENT. A TWO YEAR OLD LMB WAS NETTED, WHICH INDICATES REPRODUCTION OCCURRING AFTER INTRODUCTION IN 1991.

August 6, 1990WHC WERE SAMPLED IN LOW NUMBERS AVERAGING 9.50/ TRAP NET. FOUR AGE CLASSES WERE SAMPLED AND GOOD GROWTH IS TAKING PLACE. BLB AVERAGED 18.00/TRAP NET.…

WHC WERE SAMPLED IN LOW NUMBERS AVERAGING 9.50/ TRAP NET. FOUR AGE CLASSES WERE SAMPLED AND GOOD GROWTH IS TAKING PLACE. BLB AVERAGED 18.00/TRAP NET. BLHS WERE SAMPLED IN ALL SIZES WITH 3.5-4.5 INCH AND 8.0-8.9 INCH FISH DOMINATING THE NETTING. FISH SAMPLED ARE OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN AND MAY HAVE BEEN PRESENT FOR AT LEAST A COUPLE OF YEARS.
