Trap net catches indicate the bluegill population has increased two fold since the last netting in 1974 (160/net in 1985 vs. 80/net in 1974). This survey was conducted during prime spawning time which may bias this catch rate. The bluegills averaged about 1/4 pound each and were 6-7 1/2 inches in length. Gill net catch of northern pike increased from 2.0 fish/gillnet in 1974 to 13.0 fish/gillnet in 1985. The northern averaged about 1.5 lbs./fish. The yellow perch gill net catch decreased to only one fish. One large walleye was sampled.

Pine Lake has a high-density sunfish population. Test net catch data indicate a variety of other warmwater fish species are present, but not in significantly high numbers. Rock bass, yellow perch, and largemouth bass are present in moderate numbers.
