Muskellunge present could have entered from Mann Lake.Largemouth bass taken in nets covered a good size range with some fingerlings taken. McKeown Lake is a typical largemouth bass - panfish lake for the northern portion of the Brainerd region. It has an abundance of largemouth bass and northern pike, with a good length frequency distribution for both species. The panfish, especially the bluegills, are small and very slow growing. They are also abundant. The presence of muskellunge is not surprising, since the Woman Lake chain of which this is a part, is considered to be excellent water for this species. The chemical and physical data indicate that the present species composition is that most suited for this lake.No record of any fish stocking, fish removal, special regulations or records of any special projects or activities for this lake.
