Wood Park Pond is located in Wood Park in the City of Burnsville and is part of the Fishing in the Neighborhood program. The lake is small (9 acres), but deep for its size. Most of lake is 13 to 14 feet deep and it does not regularly winter kill. Carry-in access of canoes is possible, but the lake is a fair distance from the parking lot. Gasoline motors are not permitted, though electric motors are. Shore fishing is available at several locations and also at the fishing pier located on the north side of the lake. Yellow Perch are not very abundant in Wood Park, and they have small average size at 6.2 inches. Black Crappies were also found in low abundance, average length was a little over 7 inches. Bluegills are abundant and small, with an average size of 5.8 inches. Black Bullhead were found in much lower abundance in 2017 than in the previous survey, when over 1,700 were found in the sampling gear. Only 33 Black Bullhead were sampled and have a relatively moderate average size of 7.8 inches. Only one Largemouth Bass was sampled in 2017, it was 12.4 inches long. Also found in low abundance were Channel Catfish. Channel Catfish in Wood Park had an average size of 12.8 inches. Wood Park has been stocked with various combinations of fry, fingerlings and adult Walleye since 2005 and 18 Walleye were seen during this survey. Walleye had an average size of 12.5 inches.

Wood Park Pond is located in Wood Park in the City of Burnsville. The lake is small (9 acres), but deep for its size - most of it is 13 to 14 feet deep and it does not regularly winter kill. Wood Park Pond is located in Wood Park (City of Burnsville). It is a small lake (9 acres), but fairly deep, with much of it 13 to 14 feet deep. Carry-in access is possible, but the lake is about a 700-foot walk from the paking lot. Gasoline motors are not allowed. Shore fishing is available at several locations on the north and east shores. This electrofishing survey found moderate to high abundance of largemouth bass. Lengths ranged from 5 to 16 inches. Walleye were sampled in moderate abundance, with lengths from 10 to 14 inches. Walleye stocking was initiated in 2005. Other species were not recorded during this assessment. The 2004 netting assessment found moderate abundance of small bluegills, high abundance of small perch, low abundance of black crappie, and moderate abundance of black bullhead.
